Scholar Baller---Press Release---8/24/11
Biloxi High School would like to announce that 25 Football Players have been selected and honored by Scholar Baller for the 2011 Season.
In 2010 Biloxi High School became the FIRST school in the State of Mississippi to he honored and awarded participation in the National Academic/Athletic Program of Scholar Baller.
The mission of the Scholar Baller program is to inspire athletes to excel in education as well as on the athletic field. More specifically, the program integrates education and sports as a way of motivating and rewarding athletes who perform on the field and in the classroom.
The aim of the Scholar Baller program is to teach young people and young adults that excellence in the classroom and on the athletic field should be the goal of all our student athletes.
Your Sports career will end someday. “We feel that if we combine education with sports, young people will want to live up to and perform up to the standards and goals that you set for them. We believe that a lifestyle that incorporates educational rewards will motivate today’s student athletes.”
Universities, Colleges, Junior Colleges and High Schools from across the country are participating in the Scholar Baller Program.
